A new substation (GPZ) has been commissioned in the Daszyna municipality (Łódź Province). The project will significantly increase the connection potential in the region, which will, primarily, enable its further economic growth. In 2019, as well as in Q1 this year, Energa Operator invested over PLN 80 million in the power infrastructure in the Łódź Province.
The Daszyna substation has been commissioned in response to, among other things, a growing demand for energy from the agri-food industry. This includes both the existing as well as completely new companies – a meat processing plant is currently being established in the area which will create 1,000 jobs.
The Daszyna substation is based on state-of-the-art technical solutions.
The 15 kV MV switchgear is fully automated and equipped with digital protection. Additional spare feeders, which are partially equipped, allow to quickly meet any demand for new connection capacity. The facility also uses tracking compensation which increases the safety of network operation in emergency situations.
The 110 kV switchgear was designed as an H5 arrangement allowing for flexible and independent supply of the station by two 110 kV overhead and cable lines from the existing main Kutno-Łęczyca power line.
Innovative pylon structures designed by Energa Invest were used to build the line. Energa Group is the first energy company in Poland to boast a complete catalog of its own supporting structures for transmission lines energized at 110 kV. With the innovative solutions it applies, the Group is able to minimize the number of pylon locations, and consequently reduce investment expenditure. The maximum permitted conductor span length is almost 400 m.
